As a submissive, I have long felt a deep need for a Mistress who I can both serve and love. By becoming Margaret, Mistress Elswyth’s Lady’s Maid, I get a taste of life as the loving servant that I yearn to be. In this story, Mistress offers Margaret to one of her gentleman admirers who needs a lot of help in preparing for a dinner party. Margaret finds that nothing has been set out in the proper way so she has to call upon her extensive knowledge of etiquette to put everything right. This requires her to put on her apron and roll up her sleeves to complete the necessary tasks. Margaret is accompanied on this visit by one of Mistress’ other maids. She however, proves less than useful when it comes to the practical chores. Although the gentleman does seem completely satisfied with the way that this other maid employs her own unique skills.
Margaret’s usefulness to Mistress lies not only as her household manager but also as her confidant. How blissful for her to be the one with whom Mistress shares her secrets and intimacies. Their conversations have brought them to a place where they have a private language and share many jokes that are only understood between them. Margaret is able to set up one of these jokes for Mistress to see later when she is at the party. Margaret knows that it will give her Mistress pleasure and bring a smile to her lips.
Although Margaret lives to serve, she does also cherish her place as the useful one. She therefore feels concern that someone even more valuable might arise and she feels jealousy when she notices someone who has useful skills that she lacks. Her tendency towards jealousy also surfaces in this story when a treat she was anticipating for herself gets to be enjoyed by, as she sees it, a less worthy maid.
I am grateful for this session and for the training it gives me in how to become an ideal Lady’s Maid. I am even more grateful that in Mistress Elswyth, I find, at last, someone who is willing to receive from me the service and love that I so long to give.
